Twenty-five hovered beside the basket as the drones carried it through the sky. She had to shout over the buzzing of their wings. "You've never flown before?"
"No," Owen squeaked.
"I've been in a hot-air balloon," Wanda said. "It feels similar, except that there's no balloon."
"It'll be okay," Aleister said. "Just pretend it's the open sea. You're on a life raft. You'll be fine when you get to shore. You'll be just fine." His eyes were shut tight. Owen guessed he was talking as much to himself as to anyone else.
"It's a pity," Twenty-five said. "You can see most of the island from up here."
Wanda peeked over the rim. "She's right. You're missing out, you two."
Aleister waved it off. "Seen it."
"What's the matter?" Owen said. "Couldn't handle it?"
"And if I didn't?"
