Owen woke to the noise of children. After returning to the Rog hive the night before, he'd decided to give Wanda some room and take a separate suite with Duncan. Now it sounded like a full-blown birthday party out there. Owen opened the bedroom door. Duncan was at the table playing a card game with drones and young princesses while they gorged on honey snacks spread out on the table.
"Owen, good morning! We didn't wake you, did we?"
"No, you're good," Owen said. "Made some new friends, huh?"
Duncan chuckled. "The Rog kids were right outside when I got up. And look, some of the Nos kids showed up!"
Owen looked again, and indeed, some of them did have longer antennae than the others. He now recognized the boy sitting next to Duncan. "Oh hey, Three."
A smaller kid said, "I'm Three."
